1-to-1 Therapy in Hove & ONLINE

A safe and understanding space to explore what’s on your mind

Everyone’s story is unique. And sometimes, finding the right space to talk things through and gain understanding can make all the difference.

Individual counselling offers you a safe, supportive, confidential space to examine whatever difficulties you are facing, and to explore your thoughts and feelings. Through listening non-judgmentally to you, my role is to enable you to better understand your thoughts, feelings, patterns and experiences, and to support you to find a way to move forwards.

These are some of the common problems I work with:

  • menopause

  • parenting

  • trauma

  • relationship difficulties- with partners, children, parents, family, friends

  • life transitions

  • loss or bereavement

I have a Post-Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling from the University of Greenwich, London. This means that I work from a 'toolkit' of counselling theories and perspectives, including Psychodynamic, Humanistic and CBT approaches. I also have substantial training and experience in working with trauma and have worked for 15 years in specialist services for survivors of abuse.

I offer weekly sessions lasting 50 minutes which will continue for an agreed period. I work on both a short-term, and an open-ended basis.

My training and experience enables me to make a good assessment of you and your problem and make recommendations about what kind of counselling approach may be helpful.

If you’d like to find out more or arrange an initial call, you’re very welcome to get in touch.

Thank you,

Ellen

Your first step

Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting. In an introductory 20 minute, non-obligatory call, we’ll explore what’s bringing you to therapy and what you hope to change. If we both agree that we are the right fit to work together, we’ll then decide the pace and approach that would suit you best.

My practice is based in central Hove, easily accessible from Brighton and surrounding areas.

I offer weekday appointments, both in person and online.
